उस सम्राट की कल्पना करिये जिसने राज-काज के विस्तार के लिये कई विवाह किये है। उस पर राज्य का जबरदस्त बोझ है। उसे रात –दिन काम करना है। रानियो को संतुष्ट करना है फिर सुबह दरबार मे उसी भव्यता और सजगता से न्याय सुनाना है। उसे अपना शारीरिक सौष्ठव भी बरकरार रखना है। अतिथियो से मिलना है और फिर सीमा पर जाकर सैनिको का हौसला भी बढाना है। क्या यह सब एक साधारण इन्सान के लिये सम्भव है? पर पहले के समय मे यह सम्भव था। ऐसे सम्राटो के स्वास्थ्य का जिम्मा राज वैद्यो के कन्धो पर होता था। केवल औषधीयो का सेवन ही नही कराया जाता था बल्कि इस सेवन की कला के बारे मे भी उन्हे बताया जाता था। साल की अलग-अलग ऋतुओ मे अलग-अलग प्रकार की वनौषधीयो का प्रयोग किया जाता था। फिर भी मन मे यह प्रश्न उठता है कि क्या सम्राट सालो तक बिना किसी बाधा के अपने वैवाहिक जीवन मे सफल रहता होगा? सालो तक प्रतिदिन (रात कहे तो ज्यादा सही होगा) कई बार समागम बिना किसी ब्रेक के। आज के जमाने मे ऐसा सोच पाना भी मुश्किल लगता है।
अब तो न सम्राट रहे, न ही ऐसे राज वैद्य। पर इससे सम्बन्धित पारम्परिक ज्ञान अभी भी है। इस पारम्परिक ज्ञान को मै एक वैज्ञानिक रपट के रुप मे प्रस्तुत करने की कोशिश कर रहा हूँ। काफी झिझक के बाद मैने इस रपट को लिखने का निर्णय किया। मित्रो की पहली प्रतिक्रिया थी कि वैसे ही भारत की आबादी इतनी अधिक बढ चुकी। यह रपट भारतीयो के हाथो मे लग गयी तो लेने के देने पड जायेंगे और जनसंख्या रातोरात दुगुनी हो जायेगी। पर इस रपट को बिना पढे ऐसी बाते सोची जा सकती है। हमारा पारम्परिक ज्ञान इस क्रिया को बडे ही सुलझे नजरिये से देखता है। वह इसे मात्र आमोद-प्रमोद का साधन नही मानता। एक मित्र ने कहा कि ज्ञान तो ज्ञान है। भले ही इसकी उपयोगिता आज के भारत के पास न हो पर हो सकता है कि आगामी पीढीयो को इसकी आवश्यक्ता पडे। ज्ञान को संरक्षित करना जरुरी है। एक बार यह दस्तावेज के रुप मे आ गया तो फिर पीढीयो तक यह बचा रहेगा। मेरी सोच इन सब मित्रो से हटकर है। मै इस ज्ञान को हर पीढी के लिये उपयोगी मानता हूँ। इस पर आगे चर्चा करने से पहले जरा इस ज्ञान की बानगी देखे।
सात महिनो बाद कुमार का विवाह तय है। अभी से तैयारी करनी होगी। कुमार से घंटो साक्षात्कार लिया जायेगा और फिर उसकी स्वास्थ्य समस्याओ की लम्बी सूची तैयार की जायेगी। कुमार को चौदह से अधिक विशेष रुप से निर्मित झोपडियो मे रहना होगा। हर पन्द्रह दिन मे एक के बाद एक नयी झोपडियो मे वे जायेंगे। अंतिम कुछ झोपडियो मे वे बिना वस्त्रो के रहेंगे। प्रयोग के बाद झोपडियो को विधि-विधान से अग्नि के हवाले कर देना होगा। क्या उबटन की तैयारी हो गयी? क्या औषधीय तेलो को पेडो के नीचे से ले आया गया? क्या जंगली फूलो की शैय्या तैयार हो गयी? क्या औषधीय धान की खीर बन गयी? क्या जडो से तैयार मालाए ले आये? आदि-आदि प्रश्न राज वैद्य अपने शिष्यो से कर रहे है।
चलिये अब फिर चर्चा पर लौटे। ये सब तैयारियाँ केवल विवाह के पहले दिन के लिये नही है। इसका प्रमुख लक्ष्य़ स्वस्थ रोग मुक्त संतति की उत्पत्ति भी है जो उसी ओज से राज-पाट सम्भाल सके। क्या आज के युवा विवाह के सात माह पूर्व से इस तरह की तैयारियाँ करना चाहेंगे? आपने बाबा रामदेव को सुना होगा। वे अक्सर कहते है कि केवल स्वस्थ्य लोगो को ही संतान उत्पन्न करने की छूट दी जानी चाहिये। योग से अस्वस्थ लोग भी अच्छा स्वास्थ प्राप्त कर सकते है। स्वस्थ्य रोगमुक्त संताने होंगी तो देश का भविष्य़ निश्चित ही उज्जवल होगा। चीन मे यह कार्य दूसरे तरीको से युद्ध स्तर पर हो रहा है। वहाँ सैनिक राज है इसलिये यह सब सभी को मानना पडता है। हमारे किसान पीढीयो से खेती के दौरान यह प्रक्रिया अपना रहे है। कमजोर पौधो को वे निकाल रहे है और स्वस्थ पौधो को अपना रहे है ताकि फसल अच्छी हो।
जिस पारम्परिक ज्ञान का दस्तावेजीकरण मै कर रहा हूँ वह बहुत सी ऐसी बाते करता है जिसे आज का विज्ञान शायद ही हजम कर पाये। यह पारम्परिक ज्ञान चार साल तक वनौषधी विशेष के प्रयोग से महिलाओ मे रजोनिवृत्ति (Menopause) को चार से पाँच साल तक विलम्बित करने का दावा करता है। इससे स्वास्थ्य पर विपरीत प्रभाव न पडने देने की बात भी वह कहता है। हम भारतीय, कामसूत्र जैसे ग्रंथो को सारा संसार मान बैठते है पर इसके ग्रंथकार की जगह आप अपने को रखकर देखे तो आपको यह बात समझ आयेगी कि इसमे बहुत कम ज्ञान दिया गया है। ग्रंथकार ने काफी कुछ ज्ञान अपने पास रख लिया था। कुछ ज्ञान जबानी ज्ञान के रुप मे शिष्यो को मिला जो पीढी दर पीढी राजवैद्यो के पास पहुँचा। इन वैद्यो ने इसमे नयी औषधीयाँ भी जोडी। यदि पारम्परिक चिकित्सको के पास सुरक्षित इस ज्ञान को ग्रंथो के रुप मे प्रकाशित किया जाये तो कामसूत्र जैसे ग्रंथो से हमारी आलमारियाँ भर जाये।
भारतीयो के पास ऐसा ज्ञान है, यह बात दुनिया भर के लोग जानते है। भारत से चोरी-छिपे ले जायी गयी पांडुलिपियो मे भी यह ज्ञान है पर उसकी भाषा बडी क्लिष्ट है। इसके लिये उन्हे वापस भारत आना पडता है। यहाँ वे ज्यादातर कपोल-कल्पित दावा करने वालो और गलत दवा बेचने वालो के चक्कर मे पड जाते है। फिर जैसा कि पश्चिम जगत की आदत है वे एक फार्मूला चाहते है जिससे सारा काम हो जाये जबकि विशुद्ध भारतीय ज्ञान सैकडो फार्मूलो और विशेष जीवनचर्या पर आधारित है। इसे आत्मसात करने से प्रभाव स्थायी होता है और कई पीढीयो तक असर बरकरार रहता है। विदेशियो को इस ज्ञान के मूल को जानने के लिये भारत मे जन्म लेना होगा, यह कहा जाये तो कोई अतिश्योक्ति नही होगी।
मैने इस भारतीय पारम्परिक ज्ञान का जमीनी स्तर पर प्रयोग देखा है। बहुत बार राज वैद्यो के साथ बतौर सहायक पूरी प्रक्रिया सम्पन्न करवायी है। मै स्वयम अविवाहित हूँ पर सात महिने की प्रक्रिया मे शुरु के तीन महिने यदि इस प्रक्रिया को अपनाये तो यह सामान्य स्वास्थ्य के लिये भी उपयोगी है। आखिर के चार महिने विवाह की विशेष तैयारियो के होते है। मै उस प्रक्रिया मे शामिल नही हो पाया हूँ।
आधुनिक शोध भी इस बात को प्रमाणित करते है कि नियमित सेक्स सफल जीवन के लिये जरुरी है। उसे दबाकर रखना अपराध-बोध उत्पन्न करता है। हमारे देश मे इस बारे मे खुलकर बात नही की जाती है। ये हमारे संस्कार है। इसकी परिधि मे यदि इस पारम्परिक ज्ञान को फिर से आम लोगो के,लिये सही रुप मे उपलब्ध करवाया जाये तो इस देश की तस्वीर कुछ बदलेगी-ऐसा मेरा विश्वास है।
