Introduction

Indian Astrology or Jyotish is world famous. Thousands of experts are practicing it with the help of ancient literature present in form of thousands of Granths and Books. Although it seems that modern experts are practicing ancient knowledge in its original form but it is not much true. It may be shocking to know but the truth that major part of Ancient Astrology is still in undocumented form. And this undocumented form is in practice in rural India far from reach of modern communication facilities and libraries. Hundreds of Traditional Soothsayers like Bhattri community in Indian state Chhattisgarh are practicing the Ancient Astrology and suggesting remedial measures based of flora and fauna available in surroundings. The costly measures including precious gems suggested by modern experts are not in their list. Their clients live in more harsh conditions than modern people. These clients have deep faith in Ancient Astrology and they require live saving measures in their day today life. It is within their approach. The Traditional Astrology Experts use the flora and fauna of surroundings with much care and never allow any one to destroy forest in the name of business. From roots and barks of old trees to shredded parts of wild animals are used in their practice. They never kill wild animals for any remedial measure. They charge very little or nothing for their services. Their clients take care of these experts from cloths to food expenses. It is far superior to modern marketed oriented astrology. The flora and fauna used by them have well documented scientific base. This is reason now more and more urban people are shifting to these Traditional Soothsayers for effective cure of their troubles.   

 Pankaj Oudhia is documenting this less known part of Ancient Astrology Knowledge collected through his Ethnobotanical surveys in different parts of India. He is in touch with hundreds of Traditional Soothsayers. He has written a lot on different aspect of this Vedic Science in order to present and explain it in modern scientific context. Through hundreds of small films, many available through Youtube, he is informing the world community about this lost knowledge.

क्या वैदिक ज्योतिष के सारे समाधानात्मक उपाय केवल और केवल साधन सम्पन्न लोगों के लिए हैं? क्या गरीबो के बूते की यह बात नही है जो कष्ट से अधिक घिरे होते हैं? क्या महंगे रत्न और विदेश से सस्ते में लाये गये पर मुहमांगी कीमत पर देश में बेचे जा रहे रुद्राक्ष और भद्राक्ष ही आम मनुष्य को चिंताओं में मुक्त कर सकते हैं? क्या पड़ोसी देश चीन की वास्तु सामग्री भारत के लिए उपयुक्त है या फिर सीधे सादे भारतीयों को ठगा जा रहा है? क्या वास्तु विशुद्ध विज्ञान न रहकर मनचाही कमाई का जरिया बन गया है? कहीं ज्योतिष के समाधानात्मक उपाय ही तो आपके लिए अभिशाप नही बन रहे हैं? क्या प्राचीन भारतीय शास्त्रों में वर्णित बांस से परहेज की बात को भूलकर हम पड़ोसी देश की देखादेखी बांस के पौधे को अपने पास रखकर स्वास्थ्य जनित खतरों को सीधे आमंत्रित कर रहे हैं? ऐसे जाने कितने सारे प्रश्न हैं जिनका जवाब हम चाहकर भी नही पूछ पाते हैं और भेड़ चाल की तरह व्यवसायिक ज्योतिष के मकड़ जाल में फंसते जा रहे हैं|

ऐसा ज्यादातर लोग मानते हैं कि प्राचीन वैदिक ज्योतिष ज्ञान दस्तावेजों के रूप में हमारे बीच विद्यमान है| पर यह सच नही है| इस पारम्परिक ज्ञान का एक बड़ा हिस्सा अब भी दस्तावेज के रूप में नही है| पर यह हमारा सौभाग्य है कि यह ज्ञान असंख्य ग्रामीण और वनीय पारम्परिक ज्योतिषियों के माध्यम से आम लोगों को राहत पहुंचा रहा है| छत्तीसगढ़ के भटरी समुदाय जैसे जाने कितने समुदाय भारत देश में पारम्परिक ज्योतिष की अलख जगाए हुए हैं| पारम्परिक ज्योतिषी लोगों का भयादोहन नही करते क्योंकि यह विज्ञान मानव सेवा से जुड़ा हुआ है| ज्यादातर पारम्परिक ज्योतिषी पैसे नही लेते हैं और न ही समाधानात्मक उपायों की किसी दुकान से उनका कमीशन बंधा होता है| वे तो आस-पास बिखरी जड़ी-बूटियों के माध्यम से संकटों से दूर रहने के उपाय बताते हैं| परेशान व्यक्ति विधि विधान से आवश्यक जड़ी-बूटी को एकत्र कर लेता है और संकट मुक्त हो जाता है| आप जानते ही है कि सुविधाओं के अभाव में ग्रामीण और वनीय जीवन कितना कठिन होता है| हर कदम पर संकट होता है और जान के लाले पड़ जाते हैं| ऐसी विकट परिस्थितियों में भी पारम्परिक ज्योतिष उपाय आम आदमी को संकट से उबारता है| यही कारण है कि पीढीयों से यह ज्ञान जनकल्याण में लगा हुआ है|

महंगे रत्नों का इस ज्योतिष विधा में कोई स्थान नही है| साधारण कर्रा की जड उपयुक्त जातक के लिए हीरे से भी कीमती मानी जाती है पर इसके लिए जातक को एक भी पैसा नही देना पड़ता है| इस पारम्परिक ज्योतिष में प्रयोग होने वाली जड़ी-बूटियाँ आधुनिक विज्ञान साहित्यों में समस्त गुणों के साथ विद्यमान है| जब पारम्परिक ज्योतिषी  के अनुमोदन को आधुनिक विज्ञान की रोशनी में देखते हैं तो अचानक ही हमे पारम्परिक ज्योतिषी में वैज्ञानिक का रूप दिखने लगता है| जहां एक ओर व्यवसायिक ज्योतिष निरीह उल्लुओं की जान लेने में नही चूकता है और बाघ जैसे महत्वपूर्ण जीव को महज नाखूनों और मूंछ के बालों के लिए मार देता है वही पारम्परिक ज्योतिष में वन्य जीवों के अंगों का उपयोग ही नही होता है| किसी भी तरह की हिंसा सहन नही की जाती हैं| यहां तक कि वृक्ष से छाल एकत्र करने के बाद उस स्थान पर जड़ी-बूटियों का घोल डाला जाता है ताकि वृक्ष के जख्म जल्दी भर जाए|

जैव-विविधता विशेषज्ञ पंकज अवधिया पिछले दो दशकों से इस पारम्परिक ज्योतिष ज्ञान का दस्तावेजीकरण कर रहे हैं| उन्होंने इस पर हजारों हिन्दी और अंगरेजी विज्ञान लेख लिखे हैं, सैकड़ों फिल्मे तैयार की है और तस्वीरे खीची हैं|
