चरोटा के बीजों को भूनकर यदि उसका काढा बनाया जाय और फिर इसे पीया जाए तो काफी
से मिलता-जुलता स्वाद आता है| लम्बे समय से जड़ी-बूटी व्यापार से जुड़े भारतीय यह मानते
रहे कि विश्व की जानी मानी काफी कम्पनियां चरोटा के बीजों को काफी में मिलाती है|
पर काफी कम्पनियां
और उनके द्वारा लिए गए पेटेंटो में चरोटा का कही नाम नहीं था| हां वे चिकोरी का प्रयोग
करते थे और बकायदा चिकोरी की उपस्थिति की बात उत्पाद पर लिखी होती थी| चरोटा के बीज से हर्बल
चाय बनाने का व्यवसायिक बाजार हाल ही में स्थापित हुआ है और इसने बहुत कम समय में
ही बहुत लोकप्रियता हासिल कर ली है| थाईलैंड के वैज्ञानिकों ने जब निजी कम्पनियों के साथ
मिलकर कैसिया टी को लांच किया तो उन्होंने बिना संकोच के कहा कि छत्तीसगढ़ में इसका प्रयोग पीढीयों से हो
रहा है इसलिए हम कह सकते हैं कि यह नुकसान रहित है|
